My Students

My students are the most incredible and deserving kids. With a high population of low income families, these students have encountered a lot of obstacles throughout their lives. They are not only amazing individuals, but they are the most hardworking students I have ever had the privilege of teaching. The last few months have been extremely hard on all of my students, but they have shown me more than ever how much they care about their education and future.

My Project

The negativity about the current events in the world is very hard for many students to deal with. Not only did students lose about two months of school due to Covid-19, but they are now facing the hardships of all of the racial riots that have been occurring. Due to the immense amount of uncertainty within the world, students are feeling more pressure and anxiety than ever. Many of my students come from a variety of different cultures, and learning about these cultures is exceedingly crucial. One of my main goals this year as a teacher is to educate students not only on cultural diversity, but accepting each and every person as they are. The books I have selected for this project are all about various cultures, racism, equality, and people standing up for what they believe in. My students deserve to be educated on these topics now more than ever! With these books, students will learn, grow, and understand that every person deserves to be loved and accepted, no matter their race or background.
