My Students

I teach special education grades 3-5. Almost 80% of our students come from low income household. I have a wide range of student abilities within those grades. I am teaching groups of students at different levels at the same time due to the number of students I serve. My students have disabilities ranging from ADHD/ADD to Autism. My students need skills that will help them be able to problem solve any situation they face. I believe that they need technology to help them overcome their disabilities.

My Project

My students do not have technology in their special education classroom that supports their disabilities. I would like to see them have success in problem solving as well as gaining academic knowledge while using technology. Traditional reading, writing, and math skills are difficult for my students and providing iPads for them will help them become more successful. Thinking outside the box and using technology that can be fun and engaging will help these students enjoy learning more. I would like to use apps that students can engage in as well as use the touch screen for ease of learning. Thank you.
