My Students

Our middle school has 5 sixth grade advisory groups who are attending school in a structured day with 7 academic teachers. We have found that our 6th grade students are struggling with organizational skills as well as the need for assistance with content area study skills. These skills are necessary for our students to be successful as they embark on secondary school education. I have purchased materials from TeachersPayTeachers to provide the necessary lessons to meet these academic needs. I have no binding machine to assemble these materials in a booklet format for our students. This binder will allow us to create a booklet that students will progress through during their advisory class. The booklets will benefit students as they learn about goal setting and the steps necessary to complete tasks in a well thought out timely order. Once the binder is purchased it will serve our students for many years to come.

My Project

Students will work on daily organizational and study skills in 6th grade advisory classes with the booklets assembled using a Fellowes Binding Machine. These booklets will allow students to achieve measurable growth in their organizational skills. Growth will be achieved in the study skills necessary for their continued academic education and their preparation to enter the future job market. Employers today are seeking workers with the necessary skills to work independently as they complete projects. Many work readiness skills will be enhanced by the use of our booklets as we use our study skills and organizational curriculum. They will become better managers of their goal setting and time management.
