My Students

I am a brand new teacher to first grade and am preparing my classroom for that much anticipated first day of school. I have not yet met my students, but am so looking forward to learning about each one, what they like, and what interests will help them to become engaged in learning. Making learning fun is my favorite part of teaching, as it grows the interest and therefore the stamina of students. As a para educator, in past years, it has been a thrill to see students interact with and enjoy learning. I look forward to many more of these opportunities as I start out with my own classroom this year.

My Project

Completing a math puzzle in black and white is not very interesting. Please help me to afford printing activities, math and ELA centers, bulletin board charts, hall passes, reward certificates and more. A colored dump truck to fill with the correct number of "rocks" is more exciting than a grey scale truck. A reward certificate for "Brave Bear" when students have shown bravery at school would be more of a reward in color than black and white. And a number line in alternating colored numbers for odd and even numbers will be easier to learn from than black and white. Once printed, I will be able to laminate and reuse these manipulatives and signs year after year. Thank you for considering this donation to improve the engagement of students in first grade at my school.
