My Students

As a first year teacher, I am beyond excited and honored to be teaching 2nd grade students in a Dual Language program. At our school, we have an amazing community full of empowerment, diversity and motivation to be life long learners as teachers and students! Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to 100% of our students. Being a community school, we help provide services such as dental and mental health services to our students and English classes for our parents. My students will be educated in English as well as Spanish, and with that knowledge comes a world of possibilities. Learning a different language is not solely about the language, but learning about the history, traditions and cultures that are immersed in that language. Different cultures and languages will become part of my classrooms identity integrated with teaching life skills, and the education my students will need to be successful.

My Project

The use of flexible seating options will occur daily in my classroom. Children should be able to move in their classroom so that their minds and bodies are ready to learn. Through the use of wobble stools, my students will be able to move their wiggles out when they come to work with a small group. By donating to this project, you will be providing a flexible seating option in the classroom that will not only maximize students attention and focus, but will ultimately support their academic achievement. My students will be able to focus on the task at hand rather than being focused on getting their wiggles out. My students are children, and children deserve to learn in a flexible environment.
