My Students

I am a public school teacher who has a great, enthusiastic, full of life, group of fifth grade students who are excited to learn this year. We are looking forward to participating in great educational and inspiring projects. It is my goal to ensure all students love to learn. My diverse group of students is ready to explore new opportunities to help them grow into productive, innovative young adults and leaders. I am excited to watch them grow into independent and responsible young adults through various activities throughout the year.

My Project

I am in need of pencil boxes, large and small containers, and a storage unit to house my STEM items. This year I was able to purchase STEM materials for my classroom, but they don't have a home. It would be helpful to have pencil boxes and containers, in a variety of sizes, to store the materials for each STEM activity. This will help children locate which STEM activity they want with ease and allow them to start exploring, creating and building. At this time I have over 20 different stations for students to choose from that will allow all students with diverse needs to participate. I need both long and regular size pencil box containers for materials that are long and short (from toothpicks to pipe cleaners, from dixie cups to playdough). The pencil boxes are not only great for holding the materials, but they stack nicely for storage in between use. A storage bench would be a wonderful way to house the containers in between uses. This would serve as a bench for students to use in the reading area of my classroom. I am also in need of small timers for students to use with some of the STEM activities. Students would be able to use the timers for competition with other students or to better their own personal times during a variety of activities provided by the STEM stations. These timers will also be used during math and science lessons throughout the year.
